Tronixis serves customers in the United States and the United Kingdom. Some products are identical in both countries; others come in separate US and UK versions. Here is what changes and how to check before you send a request.
Mains power and plugs
| United States | United Kingdom | |
|---|---|---|
| Supply voltage | 120V | 230V |
| Frequency | 60Hz | 50Hz |
| Plug type | Type A (two flat pins) and Type B (two flat pins plus earth) | Type G (three rectangular pins) |
Electrical Safety First, the UK electrical safety charity, warns that using an appliance rated for a different voltage from the supply can be extremely dangerous. A plug adapter only changes the shape of the plug; it does not convert the voltage.
USB chargers are usually dual-voltage
Many USB chargers accept 100–240V input. A device that works on both voltages shows a range such as “INPUT: 100-240V” on its label. The chargers we list publish this: for example the UGREEN Nexode 65W (100–240V, 50/60Hz) and the UK Anker Nano Charger (100–240V). We still offer each charger with the correct built-in plug for your country, which is safer and neater than an adapter.
Smart-home products are country-specific
- Smart plugs are made for one socket type. The TP-Link Tapo P110M comes in separate US and UK versions, and TP-Link states that Tapo smart plugs connect over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
- Smart bulbs differ in base and voltage. The Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance 1100 lm is listed by Philips with an E26 base for 110–130V in the US and an E27 base for 220–240V in the UK.
- Matter is a smart-home standard that lets devices from different brands work together over Wi-Fi, Thread or Ethernet. Thread devices such as the Aqara Door and Window Sensor P2 also need a Matter-compatible Thread border router.
- Cameras, such as the Tapo C210, list 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, so check that your router has a 2.4GHz network.
How we handle versions
On each product page, versions are labelled with the market they are made for (for example “US model” or “UK model”), and we show the versions for your selected market first. Choose your market at the top of the page; prices show in US dollars or pounds sterling to match. When you send a request we confirm the exact version, availability, shipping and total before anything is ordered.
Not sure which version you need? Send us a message with your country and the device you want to use it with.
